Water deaths

Bhubaneswar, April 4: More than 2,100 people in 13 towns across Orissa have fallen victim to contaminated water in the past three years while an estimated 5.25 lakh have been affected with water-borne diseases, says the latest report of the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India.

The figures were recorded till mid-2004.

The killer pockets include Bhubaneswar Rourkela, Baripada, Angul, Sonepur, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Joda.
