Hyderabad: Indian Airlines drubbed Universities 6-1 to top pool A while Services blanked Bhopal (blue) 10-2 in pool D in the 61st senior national hockey championship on Monday.

Indian Airlines, leading 2-1 at halftime, surged ahead with a brace by Altaf-ur Rehman to win the match and move in to the knock-out phase.

Sukhvinder Singh scored the lone goal for Universities.

Sunil Ekka and Harpreet Singh scored two goals each for Services, who trounced Bhopal while Himachal Pradesh got past Tripura 3-2. Andhra Pradesh trounced Chhattisgarh 9-1 and Tamil Nadu blanked Uttaranchal 4-0.

Airlines, Chandigarh, Punjab, Services, Railways, Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad have already qualified for the next stage. (PTI)
