Jharkhand in dire straits

Chandigarh: Riding a fine century Sunny Singh, Haryana piled up 453 in their first innings and then reduced Jharkhand to nine for two on the second day of the Ranji Trophy plate division semi-final tie on Saturday.

Resuming at 137 for three, the hosts? total was made possible by Sunny?s 137. Sachin Rana (83) also boosted the total.

Haryana dismissed S. Ghosh (3) and S. Nadeem (1) cheaply to put the visitors under more pressure. At stumps, M. Vardhan was batting on 5.
