Guwahati book fair:

The 19th Guwahati book fair, organised by the Publication Board of Assam, will be held at the Assam Engineering Institute, Chandmari, from March 18-29. The fair will include interaction with distinguished authors, book releases, poets? meet, recitation and various other cultural programmes.

Seminar:

A seminar on Business of Entertainment with Focus on the Northeast, organised by Finer, in association with the Institute of Environment Management and Social Development, will be held at the Assam Administrative Staff College, Guwahati, from April 7-9.

Film fest:

A two-day film festival on wildlife and environment, organised by the British Council, in collaboration with the Association of British Scholars, Guwahati chapter, and Aaranyak, will be held at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre from Saturday. Several films, by Indian and British filmmakers, will be a part of the festival. The aim of the fest is to make people aware about the environment and ways to protect it.

Story-writing:

A state-level story writing competition for the students of Classes VII and X has been organised by Anwesha on the occasion of spring festival of books in Guwahati from April 2-10. The festival aims at promoting reading culture among children.

Workshops:

A five-day national-level art workshop has been organised by Jorhat Fine Arts Society in its premises in Jorhat from April 26.

A workshop on Bihu and Mising Bihu will be held at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati, from April 4-10.

Training:

The 11th training camp of teachers, organised by the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Assam, will be held at Pandu College, Guwahati, from March 19-21. An all-Guwahati quiz programme will be organised for students of Classes IX and X at the college. For details, contact 2570450, 98640-63096.

Youth camp:

A national integration youth camp, organised by the National Youth Project, New Delhi, in collaboration with the National Youth Project, Assam state unit, will be held at Guwahati and Dakshin Kamrup, Assam, from March 20-26.

Get-together:

A get-together of past and present students of Banikanta College of Teacher Education will be held on the college premises at Lachit Nagar in Guwahati on April 6.
