Leander triumphs, Mahesh out

New Delhi: Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi had mixed luck in the Pacific Life meet in Indian Wells.

According to information received here, sixth seeds Paes and Serbian Nenad Zimonjic ousted Julian Knowle (Austria) and Petr Pala (Czech Republic) 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

Paes and Zimonjic will meet the winner of the match between Nikolay Davydenko-Dominik Hrbaty and Xavier Malisse-Olivier Rochus.

Bhupathi and Woodbridge bowed out after pocketing the first set in next to no time against Yves Allegro and Michael Kohlmann.

The Swiss-German combine won 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7/4).
