Prasar Bharati vs Pratidin in final

media cricket

Guwahati, March 13: Prasar Bharati will take on defending champion Pratidin in the final of the 7th Guwahati Press Club inter-media cricket tournament final at Latasil ground on Tuesday.

In the second semifinal on Saturday, Prasar Bharati sailed into the title round, thanks to two half-centuries by Biplab Das and Gautam Sarma and a five-wicket haul by Saugata Dey.

In the process, the Prasar Bharati men inflicted a massive 127-run defeat on Prag News.

Batting first, Prasar Bharati piled up 192 for nine in their allotted 25 overs and then skittled out Prag News for a paltry 65 runs.

The other finalist, Pratidin, had tamed Dainik Batori by 50 runs in the first semifinal on Friday.

Biplab Das and Gautam Sarma?s knocks demoralised almost all the Prag News bowlers, hammering them all to all corners of the Latasil ground on Saturday.

Das scored 64 runs laced with six hits to the fence and three huge sixes. Sarma?s knock of 51 comprised four boundaries and three hits over the rope.

R. Singh and Pradip Boro were the only Prag News bowlers among the wickets. Both took four wickets each, giving away 32 and 38 runs respectively.

However, the day belonged to Saugata Dey. The Prasar Bharati demolition man ended the match with enviable bowling figures of five for 13. His teammate Tania Basfore scalped three for 12. Ranjan Das top-scored for Prag News with 11.
