Big-memory cell

Samsung Electronics has come up with the world?s largest-capacity 2.5-giga byte (Gb) multi-chip package (MCP) that will enable multimedia-intensive mobile phones, especially 3G phones, to have a memory of a personal computer (320 mega bytes or Mb). The more sophisticated, slimmer and lighter mobile phones with their increasing functionality will be able to support multimedia, including digital multimedia broadcasting. This higher capacity memory (2.5 Gb) operates on only 1.8 volts and is capable of storing up to four hours of high-quality video data. Its capacity exceeds the current 1.5 Gb-capacity level and utilises the limited space inside more efficiently.

Tiny photoprinter

With an exceptionally tiny printer, Fuji Photo Film is trying to marry digital photography with instant printing. The battery-powered MP-70, will be available in July for $100. Camera phones with infrared transmitters can send pictures to it wirelessly. Light-emitting diodes create a print on instant film. The printer?s two-button cell batteries are empowered to take 130 snaps. The MP-70 can also accept small images (2.4 by 1.8 inches) beamed from the infrared ports of hand-held and laptop computers.
