Douglas released

Calcutta: East Bengal's Brazilian midfielder Douglas da Silva, who underwent a surgery on his fractured right shin bone on Saturday, was released from the hospital Wednesday. He has started physiotherapy.

AITA meet

Three local players have made it to the men's semi-finals in the AITA Central Excise Open grasscourt meet on Wednesday. Rupesh Roy beat Arjun Goutham 6-2, 6-4. Fifth seed Saurav Sukul beat Ajai Selvaraj 6-2, 6-3, while Vinod Kumar Sewa defeated Venkatesan Vighnesh 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).
