East Zone reach sans Rohan

Calcutta: There is a minor cloud over Rohan Gavaskar's participation in the East Zone-Bangladesh four-day Duleep Trophy tie in Nagpur starting February 22.

The East Zone team landed in Nagpur Saturday, sans Rohan. Team India captain Sourav Ganguly also did not reach, but he is scheduled to fly to Nagpur Monday.

CAB joint secretary Bablu Koley said Rohan was in Mumbai, treating a 'minor groin injury.' 'He is most likely to play, and he has informed coach R. Venkatram, but he will confirm only Sunday,' Koley said.

PTI adds from Nagpur: The Bangladesh cricket team, led by young batsman Mohammad Ashraful, reaches Sunday morning for the match at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) ground.

National selectors V. B. Chandrasekhar and Gopal Sharma are also expected to be here during the match.

The city will also host the Duleep Trophy final, to be played from March 8.
