Band with the Best: Aasma performs at the ?One World? concert at the La Martinere for Boys School grounds

We are all happy to do our bit for the tsunami victims, especially if some of the most popular bands in the country are present to lend their helping hand. That?s what happened at ?One World?, the musical concert, held on February 12 at the La Martinere for Boys School Grounds.

While bands like Fossils and Insomnia set the mood for the concert, what actually rivetted the crowd comprising school students and parents as well, was the mind-blowing performance by Dhwani. By the time Aasma came on stage and belted out their popular Chandu ke chacha number, it seemed that the ground was going to explode.

We could not have asked for more, but there was still Neha Bhasin left. When she finally took the stage, Neha enthralled us too. It was hours and hours of non-stop music, fun and frolic.

The only bit of disappointment was the absence of Steve Waugh. We had all hoped he would be there.

Getting real

On February 5, St Xavier?s College gave its students a feel of the corporate world through ?Beyond Chalk and Talk?, a seminar-cum-project presentation on ?how theory meets practice?.

This year, 12 presentations were selected for the final round after several rigorous screening rounds. The presentations were followed by an interactive panel discussion between the various dignitaries from the corporate and academic world and the students of Xavier?s and other colleges. This real-life exposure not only enhanced our knowledge but also acted as a confidence booster.
