Celebrating 25 years
Vig English School recently organised
a function to celebrate the completion of 25 glorious years.
For our principal, Celine Alberts,
it was a special day as she too completed 25 years in this
school. She was given away the lifetime achievement award
and was also appointed director of the school. All teaching
and non-teaching staff members who have been with the school
for more than 20 years were felicitated.
R.M. Das, Rettiamma and Vinita
Gupta, who have been teaching in this school for years now,
were presented with mementoes. Silver coins were given to
all the staff members. Special gifts were distributed to
the wards of the staff members. Tapan Kumar Bishnu received
a special award for 100 per cent attendance over the last
three years.
The students presented a welcome
song and a Punjabi folk dance. A band from St Francis College
of Engineering and Technology performed at the programme.

Adieu
l A farewell party was organised
for the students of Class XII. It was both a sad day for
the teachers as they bid adieu to the outgoing batch.
The programme began with an opening
prayer and a welcome address by our principal, Geeta Paul.
The ceremonial lamp was lit by the secretaries of the church,
our principal, co-ordinator and the class teachers.
Hymns were sung to bless the outgoing
batch. About 121 students were given mementoes and certificates.
The teachers encouraged the students to excel in life.

Quiz
l The first Inter-school Quiz
and Debate Competition of the Atomic Energy Central School
(AECS), Narwapahar, was held recently at Narwa Club Hall
in Narwapahar Colony. Five schools from Jamsdhedpur and
three from the AECS family participated in the competition.
The participating institutes were Loyola, Little Flower
School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, Vidya Bharti Cinmaya Vidyalaya,
Ramakrishna Mission English School, AECS (Hindi-Jadugoda),
AECS (English- Jadugoda) and the host team from Narwapahar.
LFS walked away with the first prize, while Loyola school
was declared first runners-up. Prizes were given away by
the chief guest, P. Krishnamurthy, training and development,
Uranium Corporation of India Limited and former regional
director of the Atomic Mineral Division.

Fun & frolic
l Rose House emerged winner with
110 points at the annual sports meet at St Michael?s school.
While Jasmine House bagged the second position, Lotus House
had to be satisfied with the third spot.
The event kicked off with the
march past under the guidance of Anant Raj Tirkey. The students
also organised a cultural show. Later tots of the kindergarten
section presented a programme, ?Boogie Woogie?. Principal
of the school Vandana Behl gave away the prizes to the winners.
