Calcutta: Jockey Kavan Kariappa was learnt to be in a critical condition, late on Monday evening, according to the Hyderabad sources. Kariappa had suffered a nasty fall from his ride Millionaire at the Malakpet racecourse, Hyderabad, on January 23. ?He is on an artificial support;? said jockey Rutherford Alford from Kariappa?s bedside. A popular name in the city?s racing circles, Kariappa had scored a priced double at the RCTC on January 22. About four months ago, jockey Yogender Singh died after he fell from his horse in Pune.
