Demat charge waived

Mumbai, Jan. 28: The Securities and Exchange Board of India today said no charge would be levied on opening a demat account, except statutory fees, from February 1. There will be no charge for crediting securities into investors? demat accounts. Custody charges will not be levied on any investor who opens an account on or after February 1. From April, custody charges for all investors would be waived.

IDBI move

Mumbai, Jan. 28: IDBI has hired Hewitt & Associates to advise it on introducing cost-to-company approach and an integrated compensation package for employees, CMD M. Damodaran said today.
