But she is without a hero in her film, Babul, though she has Amitabh Bachchan again as a costar, this time as her father-in-law. Babul was originally offered to Kajol and when she refused, the next choice was Rani. So far, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar have already refused Babul. Dates problem' The obvious next choice was Abhishek. But his commitments this year being far too many, the offer has been passed on to Bobby Deol. Bobby hopefully won't let go of this opportunity, but what's making these heroes back out from a Rani project' Are they feeling the heat already from amaader Rani'

Recently a lot is being read into this Rani-Abhishek friendship. The Small B some time back had arranged a special screening of Naach just for Rani and her family at the Film City. And then on Christmas Eve, both drove down after work (midnight), to Vipul Shah's Waqt sets to wish Dad and spend time with him. Rani nowadays has a lot of nice things to say about Abhishek, like how down-to-earth and human he is in spite of being Amitabh Bachchan's son. Even at the recent Screen Awards, she mentioned how her performance wouldn't have been possible without Abhi, which was duly reciprocated by Abhi when he went up to receive his award for Yuva. Very few would have missed the flying kiss from Bachchan Jr when Rani went onstage. Well, well, we know how fond Amitabh is for Rani from the K3G days. During the Koffee with Karan show we even saw Amitabh pulling his son's leg when he refused to point out his favourite, between Rani and Preity, and promptly pretended calling Rani on his mobile, when Abhi said 'neither'.

There's many a slip and fall before you can call yourself a star. Well, Deepal Shah proved that some time back. She had to shoot on rollerskates for one of her music video albums. Though she was wary of it from the very beginning her director wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. So bechari Deepal had to glide on and she kept slipping and crashing for the next four hours, and before the shoot was over she sure had a bruised botty. And guess how many times she managed to fall' 17! Now is that going to be lucky 17 too'

Rekha se bach ke rehna re...

The two sirens of Bollywood have done a film together, in the recent past. We all know about Bach Ke Rehna Re starring Rekha and Mallika Sherawat. But that they had a combustive chemistry no one had guessed. No, they didn't flare up at each other and create a scene but Rekha, in her slow and silent way, ensured that Mallika was denied the attention she's used to getting. At one of the recent award ceremonies, Rekha put her foot down about sharing the stage with Mallika. There were other moves of non co-operations right through the film, however much Mallika swears about their hitting it off real well. Even during the photo shoot for the film, Mallika had asked for a particular profile, when they were required to pose together, but Rekha refused to allow her the advantage. Well, Rekha will be Rekha. She's no Mahesh Bhatt or Ashmit Patel or Emraan Hashmi or just any other man to get steamrolled by Mallika!
