Margao: JCT defeated Fransa Sports Club 1-0 to register their first victory in the third round of the ninth National Football League (NFL) match at Nehru Stadium on Tuesday.

JCT scored the winner in the 70th minute. Man of the Match Baldip Singh, outwitting two rival defenders, despatched an angular shot that beat keeper Kalyan Chaubey.

Fransa, who had the upper hand, had a goal disallowed due to off-side.

JCT collected three points from the win while Fransa remained on four.
