Jamshedpur, Jan. 23: Kadma police today detained a private tutor on charges of sodomising his wards.

Police are quizzing the tutor at the police station. According to police, the accused, S. Kartik Rao (26), who resides at an ashram in Kadma with his parents, was allegedly involved in sodomy for quite some years.

He used to take tuition at the ashram and used to commit the crime at the ashram, police added. Police added that Rao, who is handicapped and a bachelor, sodomised a nine-year-old boy.

?After committing the act, Rao clasped the boy?s mouth when he started crying out loudly. The boy was crying because he was in tremendous pain,? police said. According to police, the victim went home and narrated the incident to his parents. The boy?s father then lodged a complaint with the police.

?We are interrogating the accused to find more leads into the matter,? said police but added that the tutor could be arrested. ?He has a problem in his left leg. We are trying to ascertain his physical condition. We want to ascertain whether it was physically possible for him to sodomise his boys,? police added. ?Rao has so far sodomised 8-10 boys who used to come to him for tuition. Most of the victims never complained to their parents out of fear,? police said.
