Big bash wraps up Wheels-2005

Jamshedpur, Jan. 23: A glittering function marked the concluding day of ?Wheels-2005? this evening at Telco Club.

Organised by the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Club, the festival concluded with a scintillating performance by Bodhi Saplings, a rock band of XLRI students.

Bodhi Saplings played a mix of classic and contemporary rock. But, it was their famous composition Too many Potatoes that made the audience shake a leg.

GET Club secretary Ashish Ranjan expressed happiness over the overwhelming response from the participants.

Various events brought down the curtains on the event. But it was the unique ?paper dress? contest that displayed the creativity of the participants and proved to a fun-filled competition.

The team from Asha Kiran represented by Gurvir Kaur and Pintoo Sharma got the first prize in the ?paper dress? contest. The second prize was bagged by Cherian Joseph and Mukesh Bansal from GET, Pune, and the third prize to Nitesh Singh and Vikas Kishore Lal of Narbheram Hansraj English School.

A fancy dress competition was organised especially for tiny tots from Nursery to Class II. Over a 100 children participated in the contest. Shimoni Sinha of Telco Club stood first. Shiba Sharma of Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Pallavi Misra of Telco Club won the second and third prizes respectively.

In ?What?s the good word? contest, participants displayed their hold over English vocabulary.

The team from Vidya Bharti Chinamaya Vidyalaya represented by Ashish Gyan and Sunderesh Shrikant of Telco Club bagged the first prize. Nishant Chadha and Ratnesh of Lucknow GET got the second prize. The third slot went to Rahul Singh and Rajesh Jha of Rajendra Vidyalaya.

In the face painting contest, which had a theme ?Black Magic?, the team from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur represented by Megha and Mithilesh Pathak were the winners. Pintoo Sharma and Ruchita Agarwal of Asha Kiran bagged the second place.
