Bengal bow to Lucknow

Hyderabad: Lucknow Nawabs tamed Bengal Tigers 4-2 in a Tier-II meet on Friday.

After Anil Ekka opened for Bengal in the 15th minute, the Nawabs struck back with Kamlesh netting two in the 28th and 49th. Imtiayz Ahmed (34th) and Rajneesh Mishra (54th) increased the lead.

Arbind Kumar reduced the margin in the dying moments for Bengal.

In PHL action, Maratha Warriors beat Chennai Veerans 5-2 in their opening encounter here on Friday.

The Viren Rasquinha-led side raced to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter but the Chennai team came back strongly in the next two to bring down the difference to one, before the eventual winners thumped in two more goals to seal the issue.
