Toubro payout at 20%

Toubro Infotech & Industries Ltd has declared a dividend of 20 per cent for its shareholders for the financial year ended June 30, 2004. The company has also issued/allotted 8.72 lakh warrants convertible into or exchangeable with equal number of shares to KDS Corporation Pvt Ltd, Toubro Infotech has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange. KDS Corporation belongs to the promoters? group or persons acting in concert with promoters of Toubro, it said, adding that the shareholders of Toubro authorised the transaction in their extraordinary general meeting held on December 17.

CII meet

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise the third edition of the biennial Construction Equipment and Construction Technology Fair (Excon) in Bangalore from November 30, 2005. The five-day event will showcase the latest developments and advances in construction equipment and technologies; wide variety of equipment, technology and products for Indian customers, Excon 2005 chairman Sarosh J Ghandy said.

PNB pact

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has joined hands with the US-based Western Union to provide money transfer services to Indian diaspora. Under the agreement, signed between the bank and Weizmann Forex, a principal agent of Western Union in India, money transfer services will be provided through 400 PNB branches.

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto has implemented total productive maintenance at its Chakan plant. This comes close on the heels of the company?s Akurdi and Waluj plants adopting the concept developed by Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) for excellence through involvement of all employees at all levels.

Steel mill

Bhushan Steel and Strips Ltd (BSSL) has commissioned a pre-painted galvanised steel line at Khapoli in Maharashtra. The 120,000-tonnes-per-annum new state-of-the-art facility has been imported from GFG, US. The facility uses the latest reverse roller coating technology.

Whirlpool

Whirlpool has launched the Duet range of refrigerators. The range comes with features like the sixth sense frost control that eliminates massive frost formation. Available in 200 litres, 230 litres and 260 litres capacity, the refrigerators are available at a price range of approximately Rs 9700 to Rs 15000.

Godrej award

Godrej Industries Ltd has received a Lifetime Achievement Award for its outstanding track record in chemicals exports from the Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics Export Promotion Council, popularly known as Chemexil.
