New Delhi: Soumyajit Sarkar of Centre of Excellence (CoE) and K. Shamini of Tamil Nadu won the boys? and girls? titles, respectively, in the 66th junior national and inter-state table tennis championships here Saturday.

Soumyajit hardly broke sweat while cruising to his title. His 4-1 victory came through 11-9, 11-8, 12-14, 11-8, 11-8 gave verdicts, over Devesh Karia of PSPB A.

The only minor hurdle was in the third game which the champion lost.

Devesh appeared under pressure and made many unforced errors. He missed shots against the lightening attack of Soumyajit.

Shamini?s victory was also easy, at 4-1, over the fast-attacking Neha Agarwal. Shamini earned an 11-6, 11-8, 8-11, 12-10, 11-8 verdict.
