Title for Shiv Kapur

Calcutta: Shiv Kapur sank a 35 feet birdie putt to win a thrilling three-way play-off on the first play-off hole to win the second Amby Valley PGAI Tour title at the Surya Nepal Masters golf meet on Sunday.

Along with the trophy, Kapur won a prize purse of Rs 1,62,000.

Gurbaaz Mann, who threw away a certain win after he three-putted from three feet to double bogey the 18th, finished tied-second with fellow Chandigarh-pro Amritinder Singh at the par-72 Le Meridien Gokarna Forest Golf Resort. According to information received here, the three were tied at 11-under 277, necessitating the play-off.

Meanwhile, Amby Valley PGAI Tour leader Ashok Kumar equalled the course record of eight-under 64 to pole-vault to tied-fourth position at 281 along with overnight leader Rafiq Ali and Lucknow?s Sanjay Kumar.
