Prakash gets wild card

Chennai: Prakash Amritraj has earned a wild card entry in the main draw of the ATP Chennai Open starting here on January 3 next year.

Amritraj has accepted one of the three wild cards for the tournament which will provide him the chance to play alongside some of the world?s best players like Carlos Moya, Paradorn Srichaphan and Jonas Bjorkman.

?This is an exciting time for me. It was an enjoyable experience playing in Chennai last year and I am looking forward to improving on my last year?s performance,? Prakash, son of Vijay Amritraj, said.

?Injuries affected my performance this year and I hope to run into form by playing against top performers,? he added. Prakash was a finalist at the ATP event in Pergana and made the doubles finals in Burbank and Uzbekistan this year.
