New Delhi, Dec. 9: The Supreme Court today agreed to resume hearings on the BCCI case on December 15, after counsel for the contending parties sought time.
The issue of election of the BCCI president along with the election of Jagmohan Dalmiya as patron-in-chief are clubbed together in the case.
The Madras High Court stay order on the functioning of the newly-elected BCCI office-bearers and the appointment of an interim board administrator are also to be decided.
The apex court has vacated Madras High Court?s stay order but stated that Dalmiya could not function as patron-in-chief till the disposal of the case before it. The bench of Justices N. Santosh Hegde, B.P. Singh and S.B. Sinha fixed December 15 for the hearing after the counsel for the various parties told the court that arguments would take ?considerable time? as ?complicated? issues are involved.
Harish Salve appeared on behalf of the Netaji Cricket Club, Chennai. Fali Nariman, for the Maharashtra Cricket Association, Siddhartha Shankar Ray appearing for former board president Dalmiya and K.K. Venugopal for the BCCI, were also present.
