Siliguri, Oct. 17: An improved puja guide map was launched by Siliguri police today, highlighting 25 of the 220 community pujas held across the town this year.

The guide offers people a fair idea of how to navigate through crowded roads, packed pandals and where to get police assistance booths.

The maps will be distributed through police assistance booths located in various parts of the city.

The BSNL has also been roped in to set up Puja help-lines. Launching the guide, Dajeeling superintendent of police Rajeev Mishra said: ?The map will come in handy while planning the pandal itinerary. It gives the user a fair idea of the routes to be taken.?

Eight-hundred preventive arrests have been made so far. Vigil along the region?s borders with Nepal and Bihar has been intensified.
