Jamshedpur, Sept. 28: The Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (Jusco) has sought the East Singhbhum district administration?s intervention to realise the outstanding dues from the Jamshedpur Cooperative College (JCC).
Jusco has informed the district administration that it would stop power supply if the college authorities fail to clear the dues within a stipulated time.
District officials said Jusco general manager (town services), K. Midha, wrote to the deputy commissioner Sunil Kumar Burnwal yesterday that the college has electricity bills of almost Rs 2. 59 lakh pending.
?We have not stopped supplying power to the college despite irregular payment of bills,? Midha said in his letter to Burnwal. He also added that the company has issued a notice to the college.
The Jusco general manager further informed that the last payment made by the college authorities was in February 27. ?No payments were made after that. The total outstanding as on September 22 was Rs 2. 59 lakh,? district officials said.
Midha requested Burnwal to ensure that the JCC makes regular payments and clears the dues within a stipulated time.
