Sewa wins

Top seeded Vinod Kumar Sewa moved into the second round of the men's open singles event of the Aarbur Calcutta hard court tennis championship beating Simon Chakraborty 6-0, 6-2 at South Club on Monday.

Fourth seed Satya Arya Mukherjee was stretched to three sets by rookie Baibhav Das. But ultimately Satya Arya prevailed 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-1.

Myanmar club arrives

Myanmar Finance and Revenue Football Club arrived in the city for the IFA Shield on Monday. The Myanmar team has been placed in Mohun Bagan's group. They had a practice session on the day.
