Hyderabad: MRF clinched the Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup, defeating CAB XI by six wickets in the final at the Gymkhana grounds here on Wednesday.
After restricting CAB XI to 246, MRF scored 278 in their first innings and then dismissed the Bengal team for 165. The reached the winning target in a canter, scoring 137 for the loss of four wickets.
Overnight batsman S. Sriram guided MRF home in just 42 minutes, remaining unbeaten on 43 with three hits to the fence. CAB bowlers Sanjib Sanyal and Murtaza claimed one wicket each.
MRF was in total control of the four-day match from Day One, bowling CAB XI out for 246 and piling up 278 to gain 32-run first innings lead.
