Act of God, says RCTC

Calcutta: The RCTC on Thursday owned up responsibility for lapses which led to public protests following the running of Flower Dust Handicap on Wednesday. Boman Parakh, secretary, RCTC, informed through a press release that the unfortunate episode was caused by the act of God and also one or two lapses which he reiterated would never occur again. Outer sand track

1,600m: Calorific (C. Alford) and Shalom (Shanker) in 2-1s; (400m) 31s. Former was 4 ls better. Adderly (C. Alford) and Arapahoe (Shanker) in 2-2s; (400m) 28s. They were level but the latter was easy. Deeqa (M. Reuben) and Small Fry (Islam) in 2-5s; (400m) 33s. Former was a length better.

1,000m: Red Sea (Chisty) and April Ace (Yadav) in 1-22s; (400m) 30s. Former was a length better.

800m: Splendid Quest (Rb) and Thoughtful (Chisty) in 58s; (400m) 29s. Former was 4 ls better. So Kind (Tamang) in 59s; (400m) 28s. Fit. Sea Legend (Chisty) in 1-0s; (400m) 29s. Moved easy. Frontier Flame (Surjeet) in 58s; (400m) 28s. Maintains form. Arien (M. Reuben) in 59s; (400m) 29s. Easy.

600m: Positive Thinker (Surender) in 42s; (400m) 27s. Fit.

On Wednesday

Outer sand track

800m: Boldwin (K. Kumar) in 58s; (400m) 28s. Moved easy.

400m: Welsh Emperor (Brij) in 31s. Fit. Heaven’s Blessing (G. Singh) in 31s. Fit.
