EB-Tolly match postponed
The IFA has postponed the East Bengal-Tollygunge Agragami Super Division encounter, slated for Tuesday, to Thursday. Instead, Tollygunge will lock horns with Peerless SC on Tuesday. The Tollygunge-Peerless match fell through because of insufficient light five minutes before time on Sunday.
IFA secretary Subrata Dutta said , the change was necessitated since an abandoned match will have to be replayed first before a fresh commitment gets underway.
The Super Six is likely to begin from September 6 while the tentative date for the East Bengal-Mohun Bagan match has been fixed on September 11. Meanwhile, Suley Musah signed for East Bengal on Monday.
Police AC win
Police AC beat Calcutta Customs by a solitary goal in the first division group A championship round robin league match on Monday.
In another match, Aryan and WB Police were locked 2-2.
In a fifth division championship leg encounter, Tara Friends drubbed Saradacharan AC 11-1, Somnath Chakraborty scoring a double hattrick.
Sourashish likely to lead
Off-spinner Sourashish Lahiri is likely to lead CAB XI in the Moin-ud Dowlah Gold Cup, to be held in Hyderabad.
Deep Dasgupta and Laxmi Ratan Shukla are injured and will be unavailable for the tournament.
The 14-member team for the invitation meet will be announced on Tuesday.
