NIIT Tech shares

New Delhi, Aug. 27: Trading in shares of NIIT Technologies, which was spun off from NIIT, will start on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday. The company has also obtained in-principle approvals from the Delhi, Chennai and Ahmedabad stock exchanges for listing of shares, NIIT said.

RBI norms

Mumbai, Aug. 27: To facilitate legitimate transactions and reduce possibilities of frauds while sanctioning loans against NRI deposits, the Reserve Bank today asked banks to follow certain procedures, including seeking copy of the NRI’s passport.

Sify rates

Calcutta, Aug. 27: Sify has introduced cheaper net telephone calls to the Gulf countries through its state-of-the art MPLS technology. The service, applicable with immediate effect, would cost callers to Jeddah and Riyadh just Rs 7 per minute from anywhere in India.

Tata Tele

New Delhi, Aug. 27: Tata Teleservices has launched its wi-fi service at the domestic and international airports in Delhi for Rs 30 and Rs 60, respectively, for 30 minutes enabling travellers to use high-speed internet.

Godfrey plan

Mumbai, Aug. 27: Godfrey Phillips will invest Rs 114 crore in the current fiscal to modernise the primary tobacco processing and cigarette making units at Mumbai and Ghaziabad to compete in the international market.
