Calcutta, Aug. 27: Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today said the government is determined to curb auto emission.
“We have to take certain unpleasant decisions to keep auto emission in the city in check,” the chief minister said after inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the Automobile Association of Eastern India this evening.
“Emission from automobiles is a concern for all of us and we have to scale it down for healthy living,” he added.
The government is in favour of scrapping pre-1975 commercial vehicles but the Citu is opposed to it.
