Calcutta: Amardip Sinh Malik shot a three-under 67 to emerge top of the leaderboard after Round I of the Royal Challenge South meet at the Bangalore Golf Club on Tuesday.

According to information received here, India’s No. 2 amateur Manav Das was in second place at two-under 68, while the duo of Lakhan Singh and Aditya Singh were tied for third at 69.

India’s top-ranked amateur Vikrant Chopra was tied for the seventh position at one-over 71 as was defending champion Jaideep Patwardhan.

Malik is in his second season on the amateur circuit but already has a title under his belt.
