Engineering exam order slammed

Bhubaneswar, July 18: The Orissa Private Engineering College Association has protested against the new Biju Patnaik University of Technology order, which requires first year B.Tech students to write their supplementary examinations at centres far from their respective colleges.

In a letter to the registrar of the university, association president Kaminikanta Patnaik said the sudden change will cause inconvenience to the students as it will be impossible for the colleges to intimate the examinees on a short notice.

“How will the institutes send the students to places 100 km away from the college everyday? The extra burden of travelling will affect the performance of the students,” Patnaik argued in the letter.

The new arrangement requires the engineering students of Keonjhar to write their examinations in Mayurbhanj. The Mayurbhanj students will have to travel to Balasore for the same.
