Phoney photos

Bangkok, July 4 (AP): A police raid in a Bangkok suburb netted thousands of digitally manipulated photographs purportedly depicting nude popular actors, models and Thailand’s health minister.

Police found more than 10,000 lewd digital photos on a computer belonging to a 25-year-old male employee of a local internet service provider, Thai newspapers reported. The man’s house was raided after he allegedly posted fake nude images of a famous Thai actor last week on a popular local website.

Some pictures with public health minister Sudarat Keyuraphan’s head superimposed on them were found, the Nation newspaper reported. “These last (images) are being treated with strict security.” Sudarat, 43, a deputy leader of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s Thai Rak Thai party, was not available for comment.

Fat kids

New York (Reuters): Elementary school children appear to down many of their daily calories while planted in front of the television, a new study shows.
