Boycott session for Indians
Geoffrey Boycott

Calcutta: Legendary England opener Geoffrey Boycott will offer tips to Indian cricketers for two weeks next month, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya said on Friday.

Boycott will spend a couple of days with the Team India players on July 4 and 5 during their conditioning camp in Chennai ahead of the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka from July 16-August 2.

Boycott will then proceed to Bangalore and spend a few days with under-19 trainees at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and also the India A players, who travel to Zimbabwe and Kenya in July-August.

“It has been our endeavour to bring in more and more specialists for the benefit of youngsters,” Dalmiya said in a statement.

It can be recalled that Jonty Rhodes has visited the NCA, while sports psychologist Sandy Gordon has also had sessions with players from different levels.

Incidentally, South African legend Barry Richards will be having sessions with the Pakistani Asia Cup probables, in Lahore, around the same time.
