Jessop & Company has decided to venture into soccer promotion by sponsoring the city’s first division group B club Anushilani. According to a company release, they have signed a MoU with the club on Tuesday and decided to re-christen the club ‘Jessop Anushilani’.

Priyobrata Das will face Biswadeep Bhattacharjee in the cadet boys’ final of the Kalyan Jayant Memorial table tennis championship, currently underway at YMCA (Chowringhee).

The West Bengal Basketball Association (WBBA) has announced both the boys’ and girls’ teams to take part in the Youth national basketball championship in Gotan, Rajasthan from June 20 to June 26.

Mountaineering

A 13-member team of Ordnance Factories Mountaineers and Trekkers, Rifle Factory, Ishapore, successfully climbed India’s third highest peak Mount Kamet (25, 447ft) and Mount Abi Gamin (24, 130ft) recently, according to a press release.
