Bengal’s first on Everest

New Delhi: Commander Satyabrata Dam led an Indian Navy team that summitted Mount Everest in two batches on Tuesday and Wednesday from its difficult North Col route on the Tibet side, reports our special correspondent. Dam is the only submariner-mountaineer and the first Bengali to scale the peak.

CBSE results

New Delhi (PTI): Results of CBSE’s Class X and XII exams will be available through SMS from noon on the day they are declared.

The service will be provided by telecom company C-net. For the class X results, ‘CBSE10’ followed by the roll number without space can be messaged to 7827. For class XII, the message to the same number should carry ‘CBSE12’ and the roll number. The results will also be available on the C-net website www.blameitonmobile.com.

Test leak case

New Delhi (PTI): Special judge Pratibha Rani on Thursday remanded in judicial custody for 14 days three policemen charged with taking bribes from the father of the main accused in the CBSE’s Pre-Medical Test leak case.

Bilkis hearing

Dahod (PTI): A court on Thursday rejected the bail applications of all 20 people arrested by CBI in connection with the alleged gangrape and murder of Bilkis Banu during the post-Godhra riots. District and sessions court judge V.B. Mayani remanded the accused in judicial custody.
