IPS rejig

Calcutta, April 6: The government today transferred seven IPS officers and clarified that it had the Election Commission’s permission to do so.

S. Ramakrishnan will be additional director-general (administration) replacing Ajay Prasad, the new ADG (modernisation and coordination). Former additional commissioner Prasun Mukherjee will be ADG (Rail). Harish Avasti will be ADG (state armed police) replacing K.K. Mondal, who will move to enforcement. B.K. Sharma and Damodar Sarangi were the two others shifted.

Ananda Marg meet: Renaissance Universal, the cultural wing of Ananda Marg, recently organised a symposium, Rarh Bangla, at the Indian Science Congress Association auditorium in Calcutta. It centred around Rarh — The Cradle of Civilisation authored by late Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, the cult founder.
