Churchill eye full points vs Md. Sporting

Margao: The eighth National Football League (NFL), interrupted twice due to the Asian Zone World Cup qualifying matches, will resume here on Sunday with Churchill Brothers taking on Mohammedan Sporting at the Nehru Stadium.

Churchill Brothers (29 points), five points behind leaders East Bengal after 16 matches, are eyeing full points in their bid to remain in hunt for the title.

“Our aim is to collect full points as we need to win all our remaining matches to be in hunt for the title and tomorrow we will go all out for a win,” Churchill technical director, Santiago Afonso said.

Mohammedan Sporting coach Jamsed Nassiri highlighted two factors in his preparation for the match. He first picked out Churchill’s prolific striker Yusif Yakubu as the “dangerous man” and then pointed out he would bank heavily on the strike force, consisting of Dipendu Biswas, Syed Rahim Nabi and Sheikh Sanjib.
