London: All tickets for the India versus Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy match at Edgbaston on September 19 were snapped up within an hour of going on sale.
The on-line tickets were snapped up within 30 minutes, with the rest going to postal applicants. ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed was delighted with the early interest shown in the tournament.
“As India play a historic series in Pakistan it is good to see that there is great enthusiasm for this traditional rivalry in England as well,” Speed said.
“The ICC Champions Trophy is the only occasion outside the World Cup when all of the world’s top cricket sides are brought together in one competition and this is one of many exciting matches that will take place in the 16-day event.”
