Also, release of the book, Acting in Cinema: The Nandini Sanyal Memorial Lecture 1999-2002. April 1 at Ramakrishna Vedanta Math; 7 pm: Swami Samshuddhananda will speak in Bengali on Srimad Bhagavad.

The programme features She Said..., the last choreography of Ranjabati Sircar, and Parama Prakriti, choreographed by Dr Manjusri Chaki-Sircar.

LITERATURE

April 1 at the Seagull Bookstore, 31A S.P. Mukherjee Road; 6.30 pm: Actor-director Aparna Sen and author/ translator Martin Kaempchen will read selected love poems by Rabindranath Tagore in Bengali and German. Ulrike Draesner from Berlin will read an English translation of excerpts from her book, Mitgift (Dowry) and some of her original German poems in Bengali translation. The evening will begin and end with Tagore songs by Pramita Mallick.

Exhibition

March 31onwards at Indian Museum; 12.30 pm: The reconstructed skull of Rajasaurus narmadensis — India’s own dinosaur living in Cretaceous age, 67 million years ago, discovered at Rahioli in Kheda district of Gujarat, will be displayed as exhibit of the month. April 1 at Obsession Gallery, Aelpe Court, 3rd floor, 225C AJC Bose Road; 10 am - 7.30 pm: Enigma from Mumbai, presented by Payal. Designer launch of fabrics ranging from georgettes, crapes, shiffon, silk, cotton, tussar and matka to churidars, pants, patials to varied kurta styles Till April 1 at Artisana, 13 Chowringhee Terrace, 1st floor, off Gokhale Road; 10 am - 7.30 pm: Crafts Council of West Bengal presents Baishakhi — a collection of textiles from traditional weavers and dyers.
