Farakka, March 28: The authorities of Murshidabad and Malda met their counterparts from Pakur and Shahebgunj in Jharkhand here today to work out ways to curb criminal activities in the run-up to the elections.
The polls will be held in Jharkhand on April 20 and 26. It will be a one-day affair in Bengal on May 10. The district magistrates and superintendents of police from the four districts attended todays meeting.
Murshidabad magistrate Manoj Panth later said the consensus at the meeting was to remain on alert as criminals may switch base in the run-up to the polls.
