Sachin, Laxman bat against polio

Rawalpindi, March 16 (PTI): Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman appeared on Pakistani television and radio today, urging parents to give polio drops to children below five years.

The cricketers took time off from their busy schedule to record their messages in English and Urdu, the Indian team’s media manager, Amrit Mathur, said.

The duo said they understood the importance of the campaign to eradicate the crippling disease and had gladly joined hands with Pakistan’s ministry of health. “Polio should not be allowed to score even one run,” Tendulkar said.

Aao milke polio ko bowl out karen (Come let us bowl out polio together),” said Laxman.
