ICICIPru hikes capital

ICICI Prudential Life has expanded its capital base by Rs 50 crore to Rs 675 crore to support its booming business. Hiking the capital for the ninth time since its inception in December 2000, the 74:26 joint venture between ICICI Bank and Prudential plc said the additional capital would be used for meeting capital adequacy norms stipulated by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority.

Hind Motors

Hindustan Motors has developed a Bharat Stage III compliant engine for the Ambassador car at its Pithampur Plant in association with Robert Bosch India Ltd.

IBM laptop

IBM India has introduced IBM ThinkPad R40e, an entry-level notebook, priced at Rs 49,990. The product is targeted at small and medium businesses and home users.

AIWA plan

AIWA, a brand owned by Sony Corporation, plans to introduce a range of electronic products aimed at the youth, backed by Sony after-sales support and services.

Citibank branch

Citibank India has inaugurated its first full-service branch in Surat — the third in Gujarat and twenty-fifth in the country.

Hero Honda

Hero Honda has been ranked third among Indian companies in an annual corporate survey instituted by Far Eastern Economic Review, a business magazine. The survey was conducted by AC Nielsen Research (Hong Kong). Infosys and Reliance were ranked first and second, respectively.

Club Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India, a timeshare company, has tied up with the Indian Railways to set up shop on the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express. An AC three-tier coach was converted into a concept room called The Holiday World, with holiday counsellors, audio-visual aids for the train passengers.
