Dubai: Mahesh Bhupathi won his ‘battle’ with Leander Paes at the Dubai Open on Sunday.

Bhupathi and French partner Fabrice Santoro overcame Paes and Sweden’s Jonas Bjorkman 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in the final of the $1 million ATP meet.

In the semi-finals on Saturday, top seeds Bhupathi and Santoro got the better Petr Pala and Pavel Vizner of the Czech Republic 6-1, 7-6 (7-4), while Paes and Bjorkman the second seeds, defeated Rafael Nadal and Tommy Robredo of Spain 6-3, 6-4.
