Briton on son trail in India

New Delhi, March 4 (PTI): Delhi High Court will tomorrow hear a petition filed by a British citizen seeking a directive to the CBI to trace her minor son.

Tehseen Kauser, a resident of Sheffield in south Yorkshire, alleged that her eight-year-old son, Nabeel Ahmed Khan, was kidnapped and brought to India by her former husband, Mohammad Iqbal Khan. The two had married in Srinagar in 1992.

The court today asked her counsel to satisfy it tomorrow that the judiciary here has jurisdiction to go into the petition.

The petitioner said Khan, on the pretext of taking the child to a park on August 22, fled the UK. Kauser alleged that Khan, who is a naturalised British citizen, is untraceable and she believes he is hiding in India with their son.
