Automobile exports up 59 per cent
New Delhi, Feb. 29: Automobile exports recorded a 59.2 per cent growth during the first 10 months of this fiscal. A total of 3.84 lakh vehicles were shipped in April-January over 2.41 lakh units a year ago, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers. Europe continued to be the biggest importer of cars, while African nations constituted the bulk of buses and trucks. The Asean region was the lead importer of two-wheelers.
BSE margins
Mumbai, Feb. 29: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will impose special revised margins on 79 scrips, including Tata Steel, L&T, Reliance and Wipro, from tomorrow.
Reliance fee
New Delhi, Feb. 29: Reliance Industries will get over Rs 600 crore from PSU oil retailing firms in unrealised amount on LPG and kerosene sales in 2002-03.
Skoda plan
Mlada Boleslav (Czech Republic), Feb. 29: Czech car-maker Skoda Auto has opened a new assembly facility here. It aims to nearly double sales in the country this year from 4,451 units to 8,000.
