NECK STRETCH

This is another variation to loosen and stretch the muscles in your neck, which might be unable to move in a full range of motion due to many probable causes of pain and discomfort.

Preparation: Sit straight up with your legs crossed in front of you.

Action: Place the palm of your right hand on the mat, with your fingers pointed towards you. Now sit on that hand and extend your left arm straight to the ceiling directly above your shoulder; curve your arm over your head and gently pull your head towards the left shoulder, feel the stretch along the right side of your neck, come back to the centre and repeat on the other side.

Sit on the left hand. Turn your head slightly, and relax your head towards the right shoulder, pointing the nose towards the armpit. Bring the right hand over the top of your head and let it rest on the back of your head. Let the weight of your right arm stretch your neck as your right elbow releases down towards the mat. Breathe into the stretch. Pull the powerhouse and deepen the stretch. Now with the head at this 45-degree angle release your arm and bring your head slowly back to the centre.

Repeat this on the other side. Do three sets.
