I-T official in bribe net

New Delhi, Feb. 1 (PTI): The CBI has arrested a deputy director of income-tax and two others for allegedly taking a bribe from a man to settle his company’s tax disputes.

The three — Uma Shankar Dhyani, an Indian Revenue Service officer of the 1994 batch, chartered accountant Satya Prakash and his employee Ravi Verma — were produced before the duty magistrate, who sent them to CBI custody for two days, bureau sources said today. Dhyani conducted a survey on a company on January 20 and later allegedly demanded a bribe from its owner.
