ONGC plan to reserve shares

New Delhi, Jan. 22: ONGC has approached Sebi seeking to reserve shares for shareholders of group companies, including MRPL, in its upcoming public offer for 10 per cent government equity slated to hit the market in March. ONGC has asked the capital markets watchdog for permission to set aside a certain portion of its equity on offer for the benefit of shareholders of its group companies, excluding government and PSU units, sources said.

Sony stake

New Delhi, Jan. 22: Sony Entertainment Television has approached the government to hike its total foreign shareholding to about 90 per cent. The government has sought some clarifications and has referred the matter to the RBI.

Microsoft

New Delhi, Jan. 22: Microsoft is in discussions with the Indian government to share its source code. “We have a programme for making our source code available to governments around the world so that they can ensure the technology supports the national security interests of the country,” Peter moore, chief technology officer, Microsoft Asia Pacific said.

Sterling Biotech

Mumbai, Jan. 22: Sterling Biotech has acquired Rallis India’s gelatin business in an all-cash deal of Rs 47 crore.

Patni IPO

Bangalore, Jan. 22: Patni Computer Systems today said that its initial public offer through a book building route would be open on January 27.
